Exempla 2004 - "Handwerk und Sport"

2004 fanden die Olympischen Spiele in Athen statt. Wie immer in einem Olympiajahr bekommt das Thema Sport eine besondere Aktualität und Attraktivität. Die internationale Sonderschau EXEMPLA hat dies zum Anlass geonommen, die Ausstellung unter das Motto "Handwerk und Sport" zu stellen.

Die EXEMPLA 2004 hat gezeigt, wie vielfältig die Aufgaben und Leistungen des Handwerks für den Sport sein können. Im Mittelpunkt standen die Sportgeräte, deren Entwicklung und Anfertigung auch heute noch in großem Maße eine besondere Aufgabe des Handwerks sind.

Die EXEMPLA 2004 hat folgende Themen vorgestellt:
Sport in der Antike, Sportarchitektur, Sport und Gestaltung, Rodeln und Bobfahren, Angelrutenbau und Lachsfliegenbinden, Reitsport, Fechten, Ballonfliegen, Fesseldrachen, japanische Papierdrachen und Bambusbogenbau, Oldtimer-Rennsport, Rollstühle für den Behindertensport, Bootsbau und Segelmacher.

Die Beiträge stammten aus Dänemark, Großbritannien, Italien, Japan, den Niederlanden, der Schweiz, Österreich und Deutschland.

In 2004, the Summer Olympics are held in Athens, and in an Olympic year, sport is a hot topic. At the 56th International Trade Fair for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (I.H.M.) in Munich the EXEMPLA Special Exhibition, held from 4 to 10 March 2004, therefore used examples to show in how many ways the craft and trade sector can work for sports. The exhibition focussed on sports equipment, which, even today, is developed and manufactured largely by the craft and trade sector. Top sportsmen and women sometimes actually help to develop their sports equipment and collaborate with specialist craft enterprises.

Sports architecture
There has been sports architecture - the stadia - since the games began in Olympia, in Greece. EXEMPLA 2004 featured the subject of sports architecture as a historical survey from ancient times to the present day. Building commissions for the Olympic Games often produce pioneering architecture. Spectacular sports buildings, on show at EXEMPLA in the form of models or photographic documentation, displayed special architectural and constructional achievement.

On display were, amongst others, models of the Munich Olympic Stadium of 1972 (Günther Behnisch and Frei Otto), the new football stadium at München-Fröttmaning (Herzog & De Meuron) and also an 18^th century cork model of the Colosseum in Rome.

Sport in Asia: The art of archery
The contribution about the art of bow-making came from Japan, where bows are regarded as more than just a piece of sporting equipment. In Zen, they also have cultic, ritual and religious significance. Kanjuro Shibata is the Imperial bowyer. His family has the right and duty to construct the sacred bamboo bows for the national shrine at Ise. At EXEMPLA 2004 Shibata appeared at a Living Workshop to demonstrate how a bow is made, and he gave displays of archery.


Toboggans and bobsleighs
EXEMPLA's exemplary exhibit for winter sports were the racing sleds of the tobogganing legend Georg Hackl, which were developed in Berchtesgaden. Schorsch Hackl develops his racing models himself at the small workshop of the German Bobsleigh and Tobogganing Association. Christoph Langen, several times Olympic champion and world champion, also helps to make his own bobsleigh. He constructs his sports equipment together with Franz Hutterer jun., a mechanical engineer from Unterhaching. The third discipline shown in this context was the bob skeleton.

Flying
In aviation, Ballooning and kite-flying have risen to popularity. EXEMPLA 2004 showed the equipment for a hot-air and a gas balloon. Floating aloft in the Trade Fair Hall, there was an impressive kite made from a chain of fetters, developed and constructed by Professor Erhard Hössle, a silversmith from Ebenhausen. The famous Japanese kite-builder Nobuhiko Yoshizumi demonstrated the refinements of Japanese kite-making at a living workshop. In Japan the skill of flying steered kites is a popular sport. Yoshizumi constructs the world¿s smallest flyable kites, and held workshops on kite-building at EXEMPLA.

There were many other enthralling and sensational presentations of crafts and sports, in the sectors of boat-building and sail-making, fly-fishing, riding, fencing, sport for the disabled, and much more.

En 2004 les Jeux Olympiques d'été auront lieu à Athènes. Pendant une année olympique, le thème du sport est plus actuel que jamais. L'exposition spéciale EXEMPLA, organisée dans le cadre de la 56ème Foire Internationale de l'Artisanat et des Métiers du 4 au 10 mars 2004 à Munich, était pour cette raison une démonstration exemplaire de la multitude des tâches et des performances potentielles exécutées par l'artisanat pour le sport. Du matériel de sport dont le développement et la fabrication incombent aujourd'hui encore en grande partie à l'artisanat était au centre de cette exposition. Des sportifs d'élite participent en partie personnellement au développement de leur matériel et coopèrent avec des entreprises artisanales qualifiées.

L'architecture sportive
L'architecture sportive représentée par les stades existe depuis le début des Jeux à Olympie en Grèce. Dans le cadre d'EXEMPLA 2004, le thème de l'architecture sportive était présenté grâce à une promenade de l'antiquité à nos jours. La mission de réaliser des constructions pour des Jeux Olympiques a souvent permis prendre de nouvelles orientations en matière d'architecture. Des constructions spectaculaires de sites sportifs sous forme de maquettes ou de documentations photographiques montrent les performances architecturales exceptionnelles.

Parmi les maquettes présentées, on povait trouver entre autres celles du stade olympique de Munich de 1972 (Günther Benisch et Frei Otto) et du nouveau stade de football à Munich-Fröttmaning (Herzog & De Meuron) ainsi qu¿une maquette en liège du Colisée de Rome datant du XVIIIème siècle.

Le sport en Asie : l'art du tir à l'arc
C'considéré comme un pur matériel de sport mais il a également une signification cultuelle, rituelle et religieuse dans le Zen. Kanjuro Shibata est le fabricant d'arcs impérial. Sa famille a le droit et le devoir de fabriquer avec du bambou les arcs saints pour le sanctuaire d'Ise. Dans le cadre d'EXEMPLA 2004, Shibata a montré dans un atelier vivant la fabrication des arcs et fera également des démonstrations de tir à l'arc.

Luge et bobsleigh
Dans la zone consacrée aux sports d'hiver, EXEMPLA a exposé en guise d'exemple les luges de compétition de la légende de la luge Georg Hackl, qui ont étée mises au point à Berchtesgaden. Georg Hackl développe lui-même ses luges de course dans le petit atelier de la Fédération allemande de bobsleigh et de luge. Christoph Langen, qui a été plusieurs fois champion olympique et champion du monde de bobsleigh, participe aussi personnellement à la fabrication de son bob. Il construit son matériel sportif avec Franz Hutterer junior, spécialiste en constructions mécaniques d¿Unterhaching. Le skeleton est la troisième discipline présentée dans ce contexte.

Aéronautique
La montgolfière et le parapente sont devenus des disciplines de vol populaires. EXEMPLA 2004 a montré l'équipement d'un ballon à air chaud  et d'un ballon à gaz. Le cerf-volant captif mis au point et fabriqué par l'orfèvre Erhard Hössle, qui vit à Ebenhausen, a été ancré dans le hall du salon. Le célèbre constructeur de cerfs-volants japonais Nobuhiko Yoshizumi a fait dans un atelier vivant la démonstration des raffinements de l'art japonais de la construction de cerfs-volants. Au Japon, la capacité de faire voler des cerfs-volants pilotables est un sport populaire. Yoshizumi construit le plus petit cerf-volant du  monde capable de voler et a dirigée dans le cadre d'EXEMPLA des ateliers de construction de cerfs-volants.

D'autres exemples sur le thème de l'artisanat et du sport ont été présentés de manière impressionnante et surprenante dans les secteurs de la construction navale et de l'artisanat des voiliers, de la pêche à la mouche, de l'équitation, de l'escrime et du sport pour les handicapés entre autres.
